Before Filing

Credit Counseling Required

Must be completed within 180 days before submitting your bankruptcy petition. Certificate is submitted with your filing.

Debtor Education Required

Completed after your case is filed. Also called the Financial Management Course. Must be done before discharge.

Certificate Submission Required

Both certificates must be on file with the court before a discharge can be entered. Keep copies for your records.
